Sacha Richter's formal studies in painting include work at the Studio Arts Center International, in Florence, Italy in 1990. At the Massachusetts College of Art, his studies in landscape painting were concentrated under the direction of Jeremy Foss, and he recieved an undergraduate degree with honors in painting in 1995.
Richters involvement within the community of arts and letters represents a lifetime of experience, as his families continuing involvement within the community of Provincetown, Massachusetts has been influential in his development as a visual artist. His grandfather, Mischa Richter, was an illustrator, fine artist, and political cartoonist, whose works appeared regularly in the New Yorker magazine and other publications.
At this point in time, he paints landscape and still life subjects, and works toward creating paintings that are “real in themselves.” His work is collected in both within the United States and Europe. Sacha currently lives and works in Provincetown, Massachusetts where his studio is located at 465 Commercial St. and is open by appointment.
